DJ Suro’s journey behind the turntables began in 1998 in the vibrant city of Hamburg. From the very start, his passion for music transcended genres, moving fluidly through Hip Hop, Soul, Afrobeat, and Island Vibes. For DJ Suro, music is a universal language—one that bridges boundaries and unites people. An avid vinyl collector and dedicated producer, DJ Suro released two LPs as one half of „Pitch & Scratch“ (Légère Recordings) in 2009 and 2012. The LP „Ruff, Rugged & Smooth“ by Seanie T, released on Nice Up Records (UK) in 2019 was entirely composed and produced by DJ Suro. Standout singles like „Warning“ featuring Roots Manuva and „Veterans“ featuring the UK Allstars solidified his reputation as a producer with a global perspective. Between 2014 and 2018, DJ Suro held a coveted residency at Hamburg’s iconic Mojo Club, where he shared the stage with legends like Grandmaster Flash, Quantic, DJ Vadim, Large Professor, Nneka and Farhot. Now, DJ Suro is set to release his debut solo album in 2025—a project that promises to be both a celebration of his musical roots and a bold step forward. Featuring powerful voices like Nneka, Lutan Fyah, Seanie T, Bria, and Brazen Rule, the album is a sonic journey across continents, crafted with contemporary production and rooted in DJ Suro’s mission: to connect people and cultures through music.
